Resumen: The Affective Filter is an influential factor in the development of oral production in EFL. So, in a virtual educational environment, strategies must be applied to reduce student stress and anxiety. This study focuses on the affective filter and the relationship it has with the production of oral activities in a virtual environment. The method applied in this research was descriptivequantitative, to a group of 113 university students of A2 level of English, from the Universidad Nacional de Educación and the Santa Elena Peninsula State University. To collect the information, two structured surveys were employed. The results show that anxiety and self-confidence did not have a direct influence on the performance of oral production; while motivation played an 292 important role in it, leading to the conclusion that the greater the motivation, the greater the oral production.

Resumen: This study examines the role of CALL patterns in promoting English language learning in engineering students. The research addresses the variability in English proficiency among students in higher education and the challenges faced by those in technical fields due to limited access to English-language academic resources. Focusing on Engineering students at the University of Guayaquil, the study investigates the perceptions of seventh level English students about CALL methodologies and their relevance in the learning environment. Using a qualitative approach, the research analyzes survey responses from 88 students and 21 teacher interviews to identify patterns in CALL implementation. The findings reveal diverse perceptions about the usefulness of computers in language learning and the effectiveness of CALL strategies. The availability of technological resources and concerns about excessive reliance on multimedia tools also emerge as important issues. The study emphasizes the need for personalized CALL approaches, the balanced integration of technology and teacher interaction, and the strategic allocation of resources in homes as well as in universities to improve language learning outcomes for engineering students
